The pads are covered with very small brownish-cinnamon colored spines or glochids. Very compact and self branching a good variety for growing as a houseplant or placement outdoors in frost-free locations in the rock garden.
  
  Its spikes are small therefore you have to be careful when touching it.
  
  All of the plants may be shipped bare root
• Prefers bright light and ample airflow.
  
  Clay Soil, Sandy Soil, Loamy Soil, Drought/Dry Soil.
  
  Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended periods. Protect from frost.
• USDA Zone 9a to 11b: from 20 °F (−6.7 °C) to 50 °F (+10 °C).
