Sansevieria cyl. ‘Silver Syreni’ is a cylindrical-leaved cultivar of Sansevieria. It is selected for its upright, spear-like leaves with a pale silvery-green tone and subtle horizontal banding. The leaves are smooth, rigid and grow from a central rhizome, forming a compact clump that gradually expands over time.

Origins

Sansevieria cylindrica (Dracaena angolensis) is native to Angola and the drylands of south-central Africa, where it grows in rocky, sandy soils under full sun and seasonal drought. 'Silver Syreni' is a cultivated selection prized for its cool, pale foliage.

Soil and Substrate

Cylindrical Sansevierias have thick, water-storing tissues and are very susceptible to rot in wet soils. Our Desert Mix is ideal for this plant as the sharply draining blend of bark, pumice, and coco coir keeps the root zone dry between waterings and mimics the gritty soils of the plant's native habitat.
