Anthurium andreanum 'Rouge' is a popular houseplant known for its large, glossy red spathes that add a vibrant pop of color to any space. Its heart-shaped flowers create a striking contrast with the dark green foliage, bringing both elegance and exoticism to your home.

Origin: Native to the rainforests of South America, Anthurium andreanum is a plant that thrives in moist, shady conditions. 'Rouge' is a particularly popular variety for its bright red spathes, which are the result of years of horticultural selection.

Growth: Anthurium andreanum 'Red' has a moderate growth habit. Indoors, it can reach a height of 50 to 70 cm. Its heart-shaped leaves and colorful spathes develop slowly but steadily, gradually adding beauty to your space.

Flowers: The most striking feature of this plant is its large, bright red spathes that surround the central spadix. These "flowers" can last for several weeks or even months, and usually appear several times a year under good growing conditions.

Light: Anthurium andreanum 'Red' prefers bright but indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can damage its delicate leaves, so it's best to place it in a well-lit spot but away from direct sunlight.

Watering: This plant prefers a consistently moist but not soggy substrate. It is essential to maintain a good balance by watering regularly and allowing the substrate to dry out slightly between waterings. High ambient humidity is also beneficial.

Substrate: A light, well-drained potting mix enriched with organic matter is ideal for Anthurium andreanum 'Red'. The substrate should be sufficiently aerated to prevent waterlogging, while retaining enough moisture to support the plant.

Toxicity: Anthurium andreanum 'Red' is toxic if ingested. It is advisable to keep it out of reach of children and pets to avoid any risk of poisoning.

High quality product.
Warmth? I’m not sure what that means. I make a simple dish out of these, some milk, butter and salt and pepper—then I “warm” it up. They’re a little pricey but the quality and taste/flavor is great. I would definitely buy them again.

Good and can be used in many dishes.
These are pretty good mussels they have not been smoked or anything added to it but mussels, water and salt. Since they are packed like that, you can use them in a variety of dishes. I would buy them again but only when they're on sale because they are pricey.

Meaty and flavorful
I ate these straight from the tin at room temperature, sometimes sopping up the extra liquid with decent bread. I purchased these because I wanted to try an alternative to the King Oscar. I've tried a couple different kinds of mackerel over the years, and while the King Oscar has been the best I find their olive oil varieties to be a bit acrid. Not so with these Otter Kingdom fillets. Theses are actual fillets, so they are larger and meatier, and in my experience they have a looser grain than the mackerel I'm used to. They are high-quality, so I'm not detecting any bones and there's no formaldehyde-flavor, no imperfections in the cut. The oil is quite thin/watery and fairly small in volume. This isn't an issue for me, if anything I'd say it's welcome as it doesn't overpower the fish. These make a great compliment to my tinned fish rotation, which includes tuna, squid/octopus, sardines, cod liver, oysters, and sometimes sprats, salmon, and trout. The price is better than King Oscar, so I can have it more regularly without feeling like I'm being immoderate. Would recommend.

Excellent quality, but close to expiry date
I am basically repeating what another reviewer said in 2024, that the quality of these mackerel fillets is excellent except the expiry date of the case I received is only 6 months away, whereas similar products are shipping with expiry dates 4 years away. And my review comes 2 years after the one in 2024, so apparently this has not changed. Otherwise, I would definitely have given 5 stars. Regardless, I went ahead and ordered more, because that is how tasty they are and selling at a good price.
