There are lots of lovely antique garments still in existence, but every once in a while I come across one that stops me dead in my tracks. This is an extraordinarily beautiful and exceptional 1920's French couture museum quality blush pink semi-sheer silk chiffon tiered petal flapper dance dress. The colorful scenic floral embroidered motif throughout is pure wearable art. The dress is also embellished all over with thousands of glass-beads and rhinestones, whose circular cuts create a dazzling sparkle. The work is entirely hand applied with 3-dimensional aspects throughout. This work must have taken months to complete. I love the drop-waist sleeveless silhouette with asymmetric two-tone draped chiffon sash. The tiered petal skirting really sets this garment apart from other flapper dresses of the time. The alluring petals are individual panels with sensational movement. Would make a stunning wedding guest or bridal look! We added many pictures so you can appreciate and understand the rare workmanship.

Measurements
Bust: 38 inches
Hips: 40 inches
Total Length: 43 inches

This highly coveted 1920's French haute couture flapper dress is in beautiful wearable condition with no rips, holes or repairs. The garment slips over the head with no additional closures. Only signs of wear are minor underarm discolor and some missing beadwork which is not noticeable when worn. I wouldn't be surprised if this creation was by a famous French designer like Chanel or Jeanne Lanvin, as it has all the hallmarks of a couture piece from this era. An investment dress that will only increase in value.

Outstanding Book
Format: Paperback
Great book, a classic that seems more timely now than ever! First read Dr Akbar’s book years ago and bought this updated edition to replace the copy someone borrowed & never returned (another sign of a good book when they don’t get returned). So glad to have this new copy to revisit the deep wisdom and insights Dr Akbar lays out. He explains the painful & persistent psychological & sociological chains of slavery clearly and irrefutably. This book is a must read for anyone who wants to better understand why it’s so hard to heal the terrible wounds of slavery — even today, even generations past physical shackles....

Quick & Informative Read
Format: Paperback
I only called it a “quick read” because when I get warped in a book, I lose track of time. This is one of those books. Quite an easy read. Recently Purchased the other books that were recommended with this one.

Format: Paperback
This book is a game changer in that it takes an in-depth look at the lingering and undeniable effects of slavery on the psyche of today's African Americans. It is thought provoking and thorough and a must read for those seeking to understand the why's of what's happening today in the lives of many African Americans and how it correlates to the savagery of slavery.
